Hello, my name is Patricia “Patsy” Murphy, and I am running for a seat on the Cave Creek Town Council.

I have proudly called Cave Creek home for more than 44 years. I live on 6.9 acres at Cahava Ranch Road and the Creek, where I raised my four children and now enjoy being close to my eleven grandchildren, all of whom live nearby. Family and community are at the heart of everything I do, and I am honored to step forward and serve the town I love.

In 2005, I served on a community committee that worked to stop a proposed rezoning effort that would have dramatically changed Cave Creek’s unique cottage lifestyle. The proposal would have effectively eliminated many cottage industries, including home-based businesses. By working closely with Planning & Zoning officials and more than 100 community members, we successfully preserved the low-density character that continues to make Cave Creek special today.

Although I have always been passionate about our town, the demands of building and operating a business limited my ability to volunteer as much as I would have liked. Over the years, I have watched Cave Creek evolve and have spent a great deal of time considering how I can help guide its future in a thoughtful and responsible way.

I believe strongly in transparency, honesty, and open government. Cave Creek was incorporated by the people and for the people, and I am committed to ensuring that residents remain informed and engaged in the decisions that shape our community. Every voice deserves to be heard, respected, and considered.
I am the founder and owner of Murphy’s Landscaping & Home Management, a full-service home care company based right here in Cave Creek. Since launching the business in 2003 with a two-person design crew, we have grown into a team of more than 30 professionals. My son, Matthew, serves as our Lead Designer and Vice President of Operations, and together we are proud to serve our neighbors throughout the community.

With a deep love of horticulture and more than two decades of experience helping homeowners and landowners protect and enhance their properties, I understand the importance of trust, accountability, and long-term planning. As a small business owner, I also understand budgeting, responsible growth, and fiscal responsibility.

Through conversations with residents across our community, I have identified several key priorities:

• Protecting our water resources and helping determine the most responsible path forward for our utilities.
• Preserving open space and the rural character that defines Cave Creek.
• Expanding and maintaining parks, trails, and recreational opportunities.
• Restoring transparency, honesty, and accessibility in local government.
• Maintaining an appropriate size of government while exercising sound fiscal responsibility.

I believe we can preserve the character and values that make Cave Creek unique while planning responsibly for future generations. I would be honored to earn your support and the opportunity to serve on the Cave Creek Town Council.
